Questions & answers

How accurate is the CO2 calculation?

We use two industry-standard sources: FlightRadar24 for live route and aircraft data, and the Google Travel Impact Model for emissions calculations. Where a flight code is known, we match the exact aircraft type. For unknown codes, we fall back to the most common aircraft on that route. Cabin class multipliers apply to allocate passenger-specific emissions (economy gets a larger share of the seat count than business or first).

What does "AI footprint" mean?

Every AI calculation has an energy and carbon cost. We estimate the compute required to parse your flight description, cross-reference aviation databases, and calculate your CO2 - then add that footprint to your total. It's a rough estimate based on token count and model type, but it gives you a more honest picture of the true cost.

How do I know the removal is verified?

Every removal is independently verified by XPRIZE Carbon Removal and recorded on an immutable ledger. Your certificate includes your unique certificate ID, the amount of CO2 removed, the retirement date, and the registry code. The registry entry is permanent and publicly verifiable.

Is my payment secure?

Yes. Payments are processed by Stripe, one of the world's most trusted payment processors. Your card details never touch our servers - Stripe handles the entire transaction. We accept all major cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.

What's the refund policy?

If your certificate hasn't been issued within 48 hours of a confirmed payment, or if the certificate is not received, contact us at support@taoclimate.com for a full refund. If you have a dispute after receiving your certificate, contact us and we'll resolve it. Full carbon removal terms available on request.

Can I use this for business or corporate bookings?
